It isn’t long since the release of the Xperia Neo handset from Sony Ericsson however, that hasn’t stopped the company from announcing the release of an all new version of the Neo, namely the Xperia Neo V.
There isn’t a lot different specs wise between the Neo and Neo V, they are the same size and weight and both run on the same processor, the 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon MSM8255. The major difference between the two handsets is that Sony Ericsson have replaced the 8mp camera found in the Xperia Neo with a 5mp camera in the Neo V.
The major selling point of the Xperia Neo V though, will be that it will come installed with Android version 2.3.4, Sony Ericssons first foray into the 2.3.4 world. Sony Ericsson will bring the 2.3.4 Gingerbread update to the Neo V first and they have added features specifically for the Xperia handset range including “Facebook inside Xperia”, screen capture, video chat for Google Talk and the 3D camera function allowing users to capture 3D images on their phones.
For the Xperia Play, Arc and Neo handsets, the update to 2.3.4 will begin rolling out in October this year. The Xperia Neo V handset will be released in Q4 of 2011 and will be available in blue, silver or white.
