Remember the Xperia Hallon (MT15) we covered a couple of posts back? According to reliable sources working for Sony Ericsson this particular model will be officialy called the Xperia Neo. The unit which resembles the Vivaz was at first thought to be a Vivaz 2 but the company apparently had other things in mind, making it an Android smartphone on the Xperia line. This will be the third Xperia model to be launched this year with the Xperia Arc leading the way followed by the Xperia Play.
The Xperia Neo might be poised to compete in the midrange smartphone line since its features won’t be able to compete with the dual core smartphones to be released by other manufacturers this year. A 1GHZ Qualcomm processor is used in this model with an Adreno GPU 205. Graphics is displayed nicely in its 4 inch multitouch screen (854×480 pixels). You won’t experience any problems in playing a 720p HD video on this unit. It will also ship with Android 2.3 Gingerbread which is great since the company has been known recently for their delay in adopting newer Android versions in their smartphones.
Expect more Xperia units to roll out this year as Sony Ericsson plans to have a higher share of the Android market.
