While this isn’t great news yet, it is pretty good news for Xperia X10 owners. A member over at the XDA Developers forum has been hard at work, as is the way of many XDA members. This time, someone has been able to load a custom ROM onto the Xperia X10, in the form of Android 2.2, aka Froyo.
The video of the X10 loading Android Froyo shows the Xperia X10 load with the words “Free X10” and on the phone information page, we see that the version of Android being run is Android 2.2.1, with an unchanged kernal.
Why isn’t this great news? Well, at the moment the bootloader still hasn’t been cracked, although with developments like this, it can only be a matter of time. Secondly, the custom ROM isn’t stable enough to use on a daily basis. No other information has been released yet but, once there is more news, you can find the updates here.
