Perhaps this was just an admin slip up but, Sony have posted up what could be the start of a Google advertising campaign, clearly stating that the Xperia ion smartphone is due for a June 2012 release in the US and is available to AT&T customers exclusively.
Eagle eyed Google searchers spotted the ad pointing to the June release on AT&T for the Xperia ion – the 4g LTE Android with 12.1MP Camera (just reading from the advert here!), which seems to have been listed by sonymobile.com themselves. Not sure if AT&T will be happy with this premature revelation however but, at least we have a starting point as to when this new Xperia smartphone might hit Stateside.
