Sony Ericsson Japan have officially announced that the much awaited pinch and zoom update for the Xperia X10 will be released from tomorrow, January 19th. It will be available through PC companion from tomorrow and as an over the air (OTA) update from January 20th. Unfortunately, these dates are only for Japan so other regions will have to wait for more information. However with the update about to be released, it can only be a matter of time before the update reaches other regions.
Sony Ericsson have also confirmed that the dual touch feature will work within the browser, Google Maps, Office Suite and Moxier. They were unable to confirm whether it will work in all third party apps though. Hopefully it should work in most games and apps that only require dual controls, as the update is for dual touch instead of multi touch, as the X10 hardware doesn’t support three or more inputs.
