Xperia Play to be Featured at GDC 2011

The Game Developers Conference (GDC) is one of the biggest gatherings of videogame industry professionals to be held this February 28 to March 4. Two things make this year’s even special. First it is now on its 25th edition and secondly it will also feature the Xperia Play.

Sony Ericsson is pleased to announce that the Xperia Play will be featured on the said event and it will even have two special sessions to be hosted by Kim Ahlstrom, head of the company’s Platform Software Development team.

One of the sessions is titled “Gaming Just Got Smarter” and will be held on March 2. Assisting Kim on this session is Michael Breslin, the Marketing Vice President of Glu Mobile. Together they will be discussing how the Xperia Play can be used to create exciting things on the device. An estimated 250 people have already registered for this session.

Another session called “Traditional Games and the New Social World” to be held on March 3 will see Kim Ahlstrom as one of the key panelists. This session discusses traditional and social gaming and how to maximize its true potential.

The Xperia Play will also have its own booth during the event so people can have a hands-on experience using the device.
