A new update has arrived for Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc handsets. The Arc firmware update brings the firmware version to 4.0.A.2.368. This update adds the much awaited zoom function on the camera. The homescreen can also now be viewed in landscape and there are new themes. The home launcher which was leaked is included in this update.
The update also sees xLoud added to the phone, which boosts music playback through speakers and when recording video you can now record with high quality stereo sound. In the UK the update has not been pushed to unbranded handsets yet, instead however users with Orange branded Sony Ericsson Xperia Arcs are receiving the update. Other networks should follow shortly and we should see the update rolled out to generic handsets as well. There has been no mention whether the update features will also be available to the Xperia Neo which features very similar specs or the Xperia Play. It is likely however that both handsets will receive the update with most, if not all of the new functions.
