A few months ago Sega announced that they would be releasing Sonic CD onto home consoles, the Xbox 360 and PS3. They also revealed that they would release the game onto the Android Market, along with iTunes at a later date. One thing that many queried at the time was whether the game would make use of Sony Ericsson Xperia Play’s gamepad. At the time, Sega said it wouldn’t at launch but, may get Xperia Play gamepad support in the future.

More news from the Gamescom event has revealed that Sony Ericsson are lining up a fantastic and extensive collection of games to add to the lineup already available for their Xperia Play PlayStation Certified handset which should take the total number of games available and optimized for the handset up to a whopping 150!

The list of upcoming games that Sony Ericsson has released includes some potentially huge titles from some of the best game publishers out there including EA and Gameloft and will be optimized to use the Xperia Play’ control system.
