The recently announced Xperia S is now available to pre-order in the UK. The Xperia S is the first phone to be released from Sony following their buy out of Ericsson from the joint venture and looks set to continue in the steps of the 2011 Xperia range.

Clove have announced that they will be selling the Sony Xperia S in black starting from March 5th 2012. The sim free price for the Xperia S is £467.99 through Clove, while Play have the release date down as March 6th and a price tag of £449.99. You can also pre-order the Sony Xperia S from ebuyer for £429.99 but, they have an expected release date of March 12th.

News that UK retailer Carphone Warehouse had placed a pre-order page on their website for the highly anticipated Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray handset has been spreading across the web and a ‘rough’ date of August has been rumoured for the release of the Ray due to the Carphone Warehouse stating this on their web page initially.

However, we’ve now discovered that the date of possible release on the Carphone Warehouse pre-order page has changed to September of this year.

When Sony Ericsson announced their new range of Xperia handsets for 2011, it was revealed that the Xperia Play, Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo would go on sale pretty soon after the announcement, while the Xperia Pro would be released somewhat later in the year. After two months of the Arc and Play being on sale, Sony Ericsson have now put a date on the release of the Xperia Pro, as well as a price.

The Sony Ericsson store for the UK gives the handset a price point of £349.99 and a release date of June, so hopefully should see the handset before the end of the month, as well as mobile phone deals on the handset from the UK networks.

For those anticipating the release of the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, one thing which hasn’t been clear is how much the handset will cost and for those who purchase their handsets on contract, how much the contract will be, to get the handset for free, or minimal cost any way. Expansys have listed both the X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro for pre-order. Initially the release date for both handsets was listed as the 16th of March but, this quickly changed and is now listed as the 24th of May. The X10 Mini will retail for £299.99 and the X10 Mini Pro will retail for £339.99. The X10 Mini Pro features a slide out QWERTY keyboard.
