The Sony Ericsson Xperia Hot Shots contest has been going on for a couple of months now, with several ‘world class’ female tennis players competing in a variety of entertaining tasks to try and win the final place on the sponsored Sony Ericsson Xperia Hot Shots team.The end has come however and a winner has emerged.

Sony Ericsson have announced today, through fellow tennis pro and Sony Ericsson ambassador Maria Sharapova, that the winner of the the Hot Shots contest is world number 5 seed German tennis professional Sabine Lisicki.

Following on from the promotional work she did for the Xperia x10 handset, tennis player and celebrity Sony Ericsson ambassador Maria Sharapova has stepped up to the net and produced another promotional video for Sony Ericsson. This time the phone in question is the upcoming Xperia Active handset and Ms. Sharapova not only talks about the features of the sporty Xperia Active, she also gets the opportunity to make us squirm by ‘dunking’ the Active handset in a glass of water to prove it’s waterproof capability.

Sony Ericsson will launch a new entertainment show which can be seen via online streaming and through mobile devices. The show called Xperia Hotshots will start airing this March and follows 6 aspiring female tennis players as they compete in the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA). Viewers will get to see the lives of these featured players on and off court.
