Sony Xperia V not headed to the UK

Yesterday Sony announced three new handsets at IFA as well as the next generation Sony tablet, the Sony Xperia Tablet S. Of the three handsets, two featured a 1.5GHz dual core processor and a 13 megapixel camera. The main difference between the Sony Xperia T and Sony Xperia V was the screen size. The Xperia T features a 4.6″ display which to some, make the T the flagship handset, while the Xperia V features a 4.3″ display. However on top of the same specifications, minus the screen size, the Xperia V has the highest level of water resistance on a smartphone. It has an IP57 certification, making it water resistant for up to 30 meters in a deph of up to 1 meter, as well as being scratch and dust resistant.

Unfortunately, Sony won’t be releasing the Sony Xperia V in the UK which is a shame as it features all the top specifications while being a rugged phone. The Xperia T and Xperia J are both expected to be released in the UK however. If you are after a Sony Xperia V you may have to look into importing the handset, or some sim free specialist such as Clove may in the end secure some stock of the handset but, this is just speculation and hopeful thinking.
