Sony Ericsson’s Canada online store hacked

I’m sure most of you have heard that over the past month Sony were hacked and the PlayStation network was taken down and has only recently gone back online. Other parts of Sony sites also experienced some form of hacking and now, the Sony Ericsson Canadian eStore has also been hacked. Whether it’s part of the same group of hackers or not is unknown.

Sony Ericsson have confirmed that the hackers extracted more personal details of over 2000 eShop customers. However unlike the PSN attack, credit card details were not taken, nor were passwords, so hopefully the after effects of this won’t be severe. Sony Ericsson have taken the store offline for now and is replaced with a “D’oh! The page you’re looking for has gone walkabout. Sorry” error message.
