News of yet another Xperia range release is afoot, this time round it’s the Xperia U which is stepping into the Middle Eastern mobile market. The handset is now available to buy across the Middle East from electronic retailers at a cost of Dh 1,199, Sony Mobile have announced.
Running initially on the older Android 2.3 software, the Xperia U smartphone sports a 3.5″ screen with a speedy enough 1GHz Dual-Core CPU. It also features the ability to capture panoramic images and in 3D using it’s 5MP camera and has the media features of xLoud and Sony 3D surround sound audio technology to boot. The handset is available in black or white.
Sony have also confirmed that this handset is due for an Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) update later in the year.
