With Sony’s acquisition of Ericsson’s stake complete, the business has been renamed Sony Mobile Communications. Emails have been sent out to customers detailing the change and now the Sony Ericsson website redirects users to SonyMobile.com from SonyEricsson.com.

Finding your way around the website is practically identical to the SonyEricsson website but, we now have the Sony colors, namely blacks and greys, along with the Sony make.believe logo.

Xperia Sola trademarked

Sony have trademarked the name “Xperia Sola” with the Trademark and Patents Office in the US, as well OHIM it’s European counterpart meaning whatever the Sony Xperia Sola is, won’t be a US exclusive. What the Xperia Sola is however, remains to be seen. The trademark has been filed under mobile phones and accessories but, a model number has not been listed.

According to findings on what is deemed to be the Indonesian version of the FCC in the US, Mobile88 have posted regarding the unveiling of the names that Sony will be releasing their formerly codenamed ‘LT22i Nypon’ and ST25i Kumquat handsets when they go into the open market.

Codename LT22i Nypon and codenameĀ ST25i Kumquat will from now on be known as the Sony Xperia PĀ  and the Sony Xperia U smartphones respectively.

The recently announced Xperia S is now available to pre-order in the UK. The Xperia S is the first phone to be released from Sony following their buy out of Ericsson from the joint venture and looks set to continue in the steps of the 2011 Xperia range.

Several PlayStation Portable (PSP) titles for ‘PlayStation Certified Devices’ have appeared on the ESRB – Entertainment Software Rating Board that will add to the previously released PlayStation One titles that are currently available through the PlayStation Certified program.

Titles such as flOw, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Daxter are listed along with a range of Pinball Heroes games inspired by previously released Sony titles including UnCharted, Hot Shots Golf, ModNation Racers and MotorStorm. The games should be available to play on the Xperia Play, Xperia Arc, Xperia Acro (and Acro HD), Xperia S and Xperia ion along with the two Sony tablets , the S and the P tablets, which are both PlayStation Certified devices.
