UK network Three are now stocking the Sony Xperia U handset. The smaller of the newest Xperia releases is available on pay as you go or free with a variety of contract options.

More Xperia release news tells us that India is to recieve the Xperia P smartphone handset into their mobile market from as soon as the end of May.

Sony have confirmed that the handset is due to hit the Indian retail shelves by the end of the month and one online retail company already have the Xperia P available for pre-ordering with a stated release date of the 26th of May although, this has already changed from the 25th of May which was originally their stated date of release, so perhaps the date could still slip a little.

News of yet another Xperia range release is afoot, this time round it’s the Xperia U which is stepping into the Middle Eastern mobile market. The handset is now available to buy across the Middle East from electronic retailers at a cost of Dh 1,199, Sony Mobile have announced.

As we start to see more of these handsets in the wild, Sony have moved to update their support website to include the user guides for three of their newest Xperia handsets, namely the Xperia P, Xperia U and the Xperia sola smartphones, shortly before the handsets themselves are released officially.

For a limited time, Carphone Warehouse have an exclusive contract with Vodafone for the Xperia S. Instead of the usual £26 a month tariff to get the Sony Xperia S free, from now until May 24th, the handset is available for free on Vodafone’s £20.50 a month tariff.

The deal is available through Carphone Warehouse online or in store. The contract is with Vodafone for 24 months and your £20.50 a month gives you 100 Minutes, 500 texts and 250MB of data. Which while it isn’t a huge allowance any any front, if you’re a light user and Vodafone is your preferential network, this is a great deal.

Sony have announced that they have partnered with several case and accessory makers, such as CaseMate to bring more case options to the Xperia range of Sony handsets. While some people prefer their handsets without any cases on, I personally prefer to give my phone some extra protection to keep it shiny and scratch free and with this partnership, it will bring a wider range of cases which, should mean there is something to suit every one.
