Android 2.3 Gingerbread (Theme Mod) Now on Xperia X10

One of the minor things you have to deal with the Xperia line of phone models is that they are usually one of the last Android phones to get an update. To cite an example, the Android 2.1 Froyo has just recently begun to be available over the Xperia line however it is not released simultaneously worldwide but by regional batches. This means that a person with an Xperia handset living in the UK would be able to enjoy Android 2.1 earlier than someone from Spain.
If you are the type of person who can’t wait for the latest updates then you might want to check out the newly created modified ROM that lets you experience Android 2.3 Gingerbread in your handset. A prerequisite for this ROM to run is that your X10 must be running on Android 2.1, an installed Busybox, and a root access to your device.
This new customized ROM does not provide you with the full Android 2.3 experience, just the user interface experience. Basically it acts as a theme that mimics the Android 2.3 UI. A word of warning though to those who would like to try this, it is still not stable and crashes do occur most of the time.
