Following on from Sony Ericsson’s announcement that the Xperia X10 range will not get Android 2.1 this side of Q3, Sony Ericsson Italy have posted on their Facebook page, a release date for the desired update. Xperia X10 owners in Italy should receive the update from November 8th onwards. The translation says that 2.1 is confirmed for then but, we will have to wait and see if this stands, as 2.1 had already been confirmed several times, for a Q3 release.

They also go on to say that the delay isn’t because they don’t care about their customers but, rather the opposite. They as a company, don’t want to release an update that could cause many problems for users, so it needs to be tested further.
