The Sony Ericsson Xperia Play was the only Xperia handset released from Sony Ericsson this year that did not include 720p video recording. While the focus of the Xperia Play is on it’s PlayStation controls, the phone does feature a 5 megapixel camera and up until now, did not allow you to record videos in 720p. The latest Android update for the phone however has now enabled this feature.

Other Xperia phones with 5 megapixel cameras, such as the Xperia Mini have had 720p video support from the start so this will be a welcome addition to the Xperia Play’s features.
